Engagement Party

Engagement Party at WA Rowing Club Our engagement party will go down as the second most fun and memorable night of my life (second to my future wedding of course!)

Having all our friends and family present (who also know how to have a good time!) made the night super special.

We set up a DIY photobooth for some sideline fun too – some hilariously wacky photos came of this! I’m sure we’ll look back on it in many years to come with a big grin.

If you’re thinking of celebrating a special occasion, I highly recommend the WA Rowing Club as a venue. Helen, the event coordinator is absolutely lovely. But what I really love about this place is its elegant character. It stands pride of place on the Swan River with million dollar views but thankfully, as a heritage listed building, it has retained all its old world charm – weatherboard frame, polished floorboards and high, airy ceilings. It was love at first sight.

    Hi Olive,
I found your blog searching for a venue for my 10th wedding anniversary party. Congrats on your wedding too!

The room at the rowing club sounds great. How many people did you have at your engagement party? I’m thinking of having 35-50 people. Do you think the room is too big for that many (sundowner party)? Do you have any photos you can post or send that give an idea of what the room is like.

    PS great blog and photos.

      Hi Kevin,
      Thank you very much 🙂
We had around 80 people at our engagment party. I would suggest that the room might be a little large for a sundowner/cocktail function with 35-50 people. If it were a seated function then that would be ok. The room is quite wide and then there is the balcony which most people gravitate towards (depends if this is a summer or winter event I suppose!) Ours was a summer event, so even with 80 people the room felt quite big because many people were on the balcony. I did take some photos of the room when I first viewed it however I don’t have them anymore, sorry.
The function coordinator for the venue is really lovely and will be happy to show you through, she is there most fridays/saturdays setting up for other functions. All the best!
